Your answer should be absolutely, without even thinking! If not we need to talk, take a seat!
You are here, you have made it through every single day, even through all the hard shit!
I made a new friend recently. We bumped into each other at an event and got talking (we had both attended the event solo). We got along great and had a fantastic night, however a sentence she said has stuck with me since that night.
She said, 'I can't do that, I am not confident like you'.
Automatically I said you are and you just go walk into that room and believe you own it and own it. It's your room, other people are just in it. We laughed and had a fun evening.
I came across to her that I was confident but the secret is, I am not confident either I'm quite a shy person, but I've learnt confidence through resilience. Going to an event solo was way out of my comfort zone (which i did that night), so I took a deep breath, put my head up and walked into that room like it was mine.

The Challenge of Self-Pride
Take a moment to reflect on whether you are proud of yourself without hesitation. No ifs' no buts, just a straight up, hell yeah I am.
Being able to say yes means acknowledging personal resilience. Life’s hardships do not define us; enduring them does. Self-confidence is not innate but developed through experience. You don't become confident you practise it. Most of the time it's not a voluntary practise. Something bad happens to us, we then grow, take that shit on board and keep pushing forward. Head up, foot forward and walk!
It's ok if you don’t have it just yet, we will get you there. Just remember you have already made it to today, you are resilient, we just have to get you practising that confidence.
The world is your stage and you are the star.
Recognizing Your Resilience
You’ve made it through every day no matter what........
Recognizing your resilience starts with acknowledging that you’ve made it through every day, no matter what challenges have come your way. Each difficult moment you survive helps build a stronger foundation for confidence and self-belief. By celebrating small wins along the journey, you begin to notice your growth and the progress you may have once overlooked. Your endurance is proof of your ability to overcome obstacles, adapt, and keep moving forward. Resilience isn’t about never struggling — it’s about continuing despite the struggle, and every step you take is a powerful reminder of your strength.
Resilience also grows when you give yourself permission to pause, reflect, and recognize how far you’ve come. It’s easy to focus on what still feels difficult, but taking a moment to acknowledge your effort can shift your perspective. Every challenge faced, every small decision to keep going, and every lesson learned contributes to your personal strength. Over time, these experiences shape your confidence and remind you that setbacks don’t define you — your willingness to rise again does. By honouring your journey, you continue to build the resilience that carries you forward.
Understanding Self-Confidence as a Learned Skill
Understanding self-confidence as a learned skill begins with recognizing that it isn’t something you either have or don’t have — it is cultivated over time. Confidence develops when you push through moments of doubt and continue despite uncertainty. Mistakes and failures become essential teachers along this journey, offering valuable lessons that shape growth and self-belief. When you begin to accept setbacks as a natural and necessary part of progress, confidence strengthens. Each experience builds your capacity to trust yourself, reinforcing the understanding that confidence grows through action, learning, and persistence.
The Role of Self-Reflection in Building Pride
The role of self-reflection in building pride lies in taking the time to pause and speak to yourself honestly. When you create space for reflection, you begin to identify moments of courage, effort, and achievement that might otherwise go unnoticed. The way you talk to yourself during these moments shapes your inner narrative and directly influences your self-esteem. By acknowledging what you have done well and recognizing your progress, you build a stronger sense of pride in your journey. This awareness of your accomplishments fuels ongoing confidence, encouraging you to continue growing and believing in your abilities.
Practical Steps to Cultivate Self-Confidence
Acknowledge your past struggles and recognise how you overcame them. Reflecting on these experiences reminds you of your resilience and capability. Setting small, achievable goals helps build momentum, allowing confidence to grow through consistent progress. It is also important to surround yourself with supportive voices and environments that encourage growth and positivity. Alongside this, practicing positive self-affirmations regularly can reshape your mindset, strengthening self-belief and reinforcing your ability to handle challenges. Over time, these simple but intentional actions create a solid foundation for lasting self-confidence.
The Impact of Self-Confidence on Daily Life
With stronger self-belief, decision-making becomes clearer, and you may feel more comfortable taking positive risks that support growth. Self-confidence also strengthens resilience, helping you face future challenges with a more balanced and determined mindset. As your self-assurance grows, relationships can improve, as you communicate more openly and engage with others in a more authentic way. This increased confidence often brings greater motivation and energy, encouraging you to pursue personal goals and continue moving forward with purpose.
Encouragement to Embrace Your Story
You are here today because you never gave up! Every challenge you have faced and every step you have taken has shaped a journey that is uniquely valuable and powerful. Taking pride in yourself is an important act of self-respect and self-love, allowing you to honour the strength it took to keep going. Each day you have moved forward, even when it felt difficult, is a testament to resilience worth celebrating. By embracing your story, you acknowledge your growth and empower yourself to continue with confidence and purpose
I went through a relationship breakdown and before I knew it my whole life had changed. I had lost my partner, best friend, family and became a single mother. Something I did not think I would ever go through. At first I was embarrassed. I worked in an Industry that everyone gets to see your dirty laundry! I tried to hide, I tried to protect those who wronged me, who disrespected me.
But then, I started to tell my story, people listened to what I was saying, they supported me. This allowed me to embrace what had happened and accept it. Once I did - I could grow, move on and now be the strongest and best version of myself, which I am so proud of.
I am proud of me! I am proud of you! Be proud of you with me.
You have purpose
You are resilient
You are confident
